- US Naval Academy STEM Program http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/stem.html
The Naval Academy Summer STEM Program is offered to rising 8th-11th Graders. Students must demonstrate superior academic performance to include GPA, class standing, and/or strong PSAT, SAT or ACT results. Selection is based in large part on ensuring geographic representation along with overall accomplishments in and out of the classroom. All applicants will be notified of their status by May 1st. All students selected to participate will receive a full scholarship to attend the camp, which includes your room and board, meals, as well as a variety of materials. Plan on bringing extra cash for snacks and souvenirs. Each student is responsible for arranging transportation to and from the Naval Academy. - The All-Arts, Sciences + Technology Camp http://web.uncg.edu/dcl/web/allarts_technology/ is sponsored by UNCG’s Division of Continual Learning, is a weeklong, residential summer camp for children ages 7-15. Designed to give quality instruction in the arts and sciences, the camp also includes recreation, values exploration, and citizenship components. Each camper picks a two-hour morning class studying something they’re interested in and a two-hour afternoon class in a different area of study. This year, the camp is also offering full-day Film Challenge and Lego Robotics courses for older campers that will cover both morning and afternoon sessions. The courses are exciting and engaging. Campers are divided into grade groups (2nd-5th & 6th and up) for academic course work and other activities. Hands-on curriculum encourages problem solving and critical thinking and is interwoven with the study of the work and the lives of master artists and scientists. In addition to the academic course work, the campers experience dorm life on a college campus. They get to participate in a range of activities that fosters personal and social development, encourages physical activity, and offers a chance to have fun – lots and lots of fun!
- Applicachin Institute of Crative Learning Summer Enrichment Camp (A.I.C.L) is a co-ed residential program for gifted and talented children entering 3rd through 12 grades. Children do not need to be officially certified as gifted to attend our program; instead, we consider creativity and enthusiasm for learning to be sufficient criteria.
